Mahindra wraps up cover from XUV400. Basically this is the electrified XUV300. But the XUV400 receives plenty of changes both technically and mechanically. However the XUV400 is based on the XUV300, it is no more a sub-4 meter SUV. The major change is the length which happens to be 4200 mm. This change makes the SUV spacious. But the wheelbase is 2600mm which is same as XUV300. It means the increased length will effect the boot space.
XUV400 is re designed XUV300. The design of the XUV400 offers the exact EV taste because of the close grill having arrow head shape elements and twin-peaks Mahindra logo. Actually the major changes are seen at the front and rear profile of the SUV. The headlamps are similar to XUV300 but the DRLs are not dropped down till the bumpers. The bumper gets bronze garnish instead of DRLs.
The rear is also very close to XUV300. The glass panel, spoiler, stop-lamp and bumper, everything are similar to XUV300. But the tail-lamps gets some changes. The shape of tailaamps are similar but this time it gets some aero head treatment. Also the side is similar to XUV400. It has the same pillar and roofline even the 16 inch alloy wheels are also same as XUV300.
The major change in interior is the black theme. The XUV300 comes with black-white dual tone interior. Here the XUV400 comes with monotone black interior. The dashboard layout is also same as XUV300. If has same steering wheel, same screen, same climate modules. The bronze inserts over the Mahindra logo, climate control and AC vents are distinct from the XUV300.
The XUV400 is a powerful EV. It has a front axle mounted motor which is 150hp powerful and makes a maximum torque of 310nm. This motor will be powered by a 39.4 kWh battery that can be charges 0-100% in 6 hours with fast charger and in 13 hours with regular charger. The XUV400 can run 456km in a single charge.
