Mahindra has officially unveiled the Scorpio classic on Friday. This is actually slightly modified previous generation scorpio which will go on sell parallely with Scorpio-n. This is due to high demand of outgoing Scorpio however the Scorpio classic isn't exactly the outgoing Scorpio, this will be slightly upgraded in terms of design, features and engine.
At the front, the Scorpio classic has revised grille and bumper. The hood is up-right and there is a non hood scoop like outgoing Scorpio but in scorpio classic, the hood scoop is non functional. At the side, it gets same thick cladding and some extra design element is given. The Scorpio classic lies on a new set of alloy wheel. The rear has vertical tail-lamp. Apart from these, it is exactly same as outgoing Scorpio.
The isterior is in black and beige theme like outgoing Scorpio. The notable changes are the steering wheel and larger touch screen infotainment system. The infotainment system is an android based system which misses out some connectivity features. The steering wheel is also new and it is leather wrapped. Alert from these all things are same as outgoing Scorpio. The seats gets fabric upholstery and diamond shaped stitching is done over it.
The Scorpio classic will be available in two variants. S and S11. The S is basically the S3 variant of the outgoing Scorpio. It will be offered in 6, 7 and 9 seater option. The Scorpio classic is powered by a new Mhawk diesel engine which is more refined and polished as compare to outgoing Mhawk 140 engine. This engine is 130bhp powerful and makes a maximum torque output of 300nm.
