Czech car maker Skoda has started production of their upcoming premium sedan Slavia. The Skoda Slavia will replace Rapid and compete Honda City, Hyundai Verna and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz as well. The premium sedan is based on MQB-A0-IN platform which also underpins Skoda Kushaq and VW Taigun. Skoda has not confirmed the launch date but the launch is expected in March this year.
Skoda Slavia receives an aggressive front look. It gets hexagonal grille with chrome surround and vertical slats like other Skoda cars. The LED headlaps are sharp and intigtares LED DRL inside. Lower down the bumper gets massive air intake and foglamp housing. Side window gets chrome underline. There are alloy wheels also provided. Rear profile of the sedan gets stttled look as it has split taillights. Rear bumper gets reflectors and a chrome line is joining the reflectors.
Interior of the Skoda Slavia is in Black-beige dual tone theme. Dashboard layout is identical to the Kushaq SUV. The premium sedan is to be offered in three varients i.e Active, Ambition and Style. In terms of features it gets 10" touch screen infotainment system which supports android auto and apple car play, connected car tech, front ventilated seats, leather uphosltry, 6 speaker music system.
Power train option includes a 1.0 liter 3 cylinder turbo petrol engine and a 1.5 liter 4 cylinder turbo petrol engine. The 1.0 liter engine delivers 115bhp and 178nm of torque and mated to a torque converter automatic transmission. The 1.5 liter turbo petrol engine is able to crank out 150bhp and 250nm of torque and is mated to a 7 speed DSG gearbox. A 6 speed manual transmission unit is standard.
