Both Toyota and Maruti are well known auto manufacturer in India. They have a solid costumer base in their respective segments. Both are working as a joint ventures since 2018 and lunched multiple products by working together. Now they are working on a crossover SUV named D22(code name). After launch the SUV D22 will compete Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Astor, Skoda Kushaq and Nissan Kicks.
The D22 SUV will be based on DNGA (Daihatsu New Global Architecture) platform. And from reports it is said that the SUV will be 4.2 m long. As we know both Toyota and Maruti doesn't offer too much like Hyundai and Kia, so we should expect some of the practical feature only in the D22 SUV. The expected features are 10 inch touch screen with wireless smartphone connectivity, connected car tech, wireless charger and a sunroof apart some basic features.
The expected power train option will be the 1.5 liter naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 103bhp and 138nm torque. They may offer 1.5 liter BS6 diesel engine which is under development. Another will be the 1.2 liter turbocharged petrol engine.
