Scorpio next gen. launch postponed to first quarter of 2022

2. Body on frame chassis for batter off road capabilities.
3. Feature loaded cabin with 2.2 liter turbo diesel engine.

Today it is approximately 20 years from that day when Scorpio came to market. From that day Scorpio has been upgraded so many times but still it has same frame as the 1st generation model which feels outdated. Now its time to give a valuable update to it and Mahindra knows it very well and they are vary serious about it. Mahindra is already on working for a new generation Scorpio. 

Mahindra Scorpio launch delayed because of rising cases of covid-19 and global shortage of semiconductor chip. Now Mahindra is going to launch new generation Scorpio in between January - March 2022. The changes given to new Scorpio are described below.

New generation Scorpio will get a body on frame chassis which is used in Mahindra Thar. This chassis will provide a batter road presence and off roading experience. Along with change in chassis it will get a revised exterior and interior as well. It is to be offered in dual projector LED headlamp with LED day time running lamps. Front has a massive grille with glossy black and chrome inserts. The bumper has squarish fog lamp housing in which functional air dam is integrated. It also get skid plate.
Side profile is simple. It has thick cladding and large windows. In spy images it is sen in black multi spoke alloy wheels. Alloy wheel size is 17 inches. The rear also has LED taillamps and rear reflectors are mounted on bumper.

New Scorpio will have a feature loaded cabin. In spy images a sunroof is also seen. The key features are touch screen infotainment system with android auto and apple car play, automatic climate control, keyless entry with push button start stop, multi function steering wheel, drive and traction mode.

Scorpio will offered in 2.0 liter turbo charged petrol engine which will produce nearly 170 bhp and 300nm torque. Again it will offered in 2.2 liter turbo diesel engine power producing nearly 160 bhp and 350nm of torque. Transmission option consist of a 6 speed manual and 6 speed torque converter automatic transmission. It will have 4×4 option also.

Mahindra Scorpio Classic

This is actually slightly modified previous generation scorpio which will go on sell parallely with Scorpio-n. This is due to high demand of outgoing Scorpio however the Scorpio classic isn't exactly the outgoing Scorpio, this will be slightly upgraded in terms of design, features and engine. At the front, the Scorpio classic has revised grille and bumper. The hood is up-right and there is a non hood scoop like outgoing Scorpio but in scorpio classic, the hood scoop is non functional.
