Skoda Kylaq: The Upcoming Sub-Compact SUV


1. The name for the upcoming sub-4 meter SUV has been announced.
2. Choosen from around 200,000 names.
3. Launch in 2025.

Skoda is all set to enter the highly competitive sub-compact SUV segment. The testing of the SUV has already been started and the spy images are surfing on internet from last few months. 

This is the third product of India2.0 program. But Skoda hadn't confirmed what the SUV will be called. Like Kishaq and Kodiaq, Skoda initiated a naming contest for this SUV.

Over 200,000 entries were registered out of which five were shortlisted, Kwiq, Kylaq, Kosmiq, Kliq and Kayaq. The manufacturer has finalized the name Kylaq (kai-lak) which is inspired from Mt. Kailash.
The SUV will be launched in 2025 and it will take on SUVs like Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV 3XO and Tata Nexon. More details about the Kylaq are awaited.
